Headshot FAQ's

Q. Where does the shoot take place?

A. Headshots are taken either on location in your place of work or outdoors. I will bring the appropriate equipment needed for what is determined in our pre-consultation discussion.

Q. Do you retouch images?

A. With using the right lighting and posing techniques, your images will be looking great straight out of camera. Before your gallery is delivered, your images will be color-corrected and cropped to ensure they look their best.

 

You can order images to be digitally retouched as an add-on to your session. Each image you order will be expertly retouched and given the highest level of attention. Keep in mind that retouching will be subtle as to not make you look airbrushed or fake.

 

The retouching service includes:

  • Smoothing skin

  • Fix stray hairs

  • Reduce/remove wrinkles 

  • Remove blemishes

  • Reduce/remove dark under eye circles

  • Brighten eyes/teeth

  • Body slimming

Q. What do I wear for my session?

A. Bring options to the shoot. Here are some pointers:

  • Avoid black clothes or white clothes, they tend to lose detail photographs

  • Stay away from clothes with busy patterns. Solid colors are best.

  • Make sure any clothes that you bring are clean and neatly pressed. This goes double for collared shirts and suits. The camera will pick up more detail than you think.

  • Stay away from clothes that are too tight or uncomfortable.

  • Collared button down shirts are great, a solid color with a crisp-clean white shirt underneath for the men and a stylish solid color for women. All shirts need to be clean and pressed.

  • Be rested and drink plenty of water the day before your session, it is amazing for your skin.

  • Keep jewelry to a minimum—simple and classic

Q. How long does it take to get my images?

A. Turnaround time for most headshot sessions is three business days to receive your gallery of images. Once you make your retouching selections it is typically another two to three business days before your final, edited images are delivered to you. Rush service is available if you need a faster turnaround time, just let me know when  you book.

Q. How are my images delivered?

A. Your images will be delivered via secure online gallery. After choosing your final images, they will be available for instant download.
